Example RFQ workflow

Bearing housing RFQ workflow from drawing, tolerance, and material notes.

A repair workshop needs replacement bearing housings and sleeves for heavy equipment, but the original supplier part number is unavailable.

Important note

This is a scenario-based RFQ note for SEO and buyer education. It does not claim a completed customer project or shipment.

Buyer typeConstruction machinery repair workshop
Product focusBearing housings, sleeves, spacer rings, bushings, and custom bearing accessories
RFQ challengeThe product cannot be quoted safely from a name alone because fit dimensions, hole pattern, tolerance, material, and heat treatment affect production.

Evidence needed before quote

  • 2D drawing, sample photo, worn part photo, or measured dimension sheet
  • Inner diameter, outer diameter, width, step, groove, and hole pattern
  • Material requirement such as bearing steel, 42CrMo, 40Cr, or bronze
  • Heat treatment, hardness, surface finish, and coating notes
  • Quantity, approval sample need, destination port, and repeat demand

Review workflow

  1. Confirm whether the item is a standard bearing or a custom bearing accessory.
  2. Check if critical dimensions and tolerances are complete enough for machining review.
  3. Identify missing material, heat treatment, surface finish, or hole-position details.
  4. Prepare supplier questions before quoting sample cost, MOQ, and lead time.

Manual review outcome

The inquiry becomes a drawing-based RFQ that can be reviewed for machining path, material, tolerance, inspection, sample approval, and export packing.
